U.S.-based Bitcoin mining chip designer Auradine has unveiled its latest hydro-cooled miner, the Teraflux AH3880, boasting a power efficiency of 14.5 joules per terahash (J/TH).

In a press release on Tuesday, Auradine said the AH3880 is the first U.S.-engineered, hydro-cooled Bitcoin miner and delivers a hashrate of up to 600 TH/s, placing it among the most efficient mining rigs currently available.

For comparison, Bitmain’s S21XP Hydro, launched in 2024, remains the most efficient hydro-cooling miner on the market at 12 J/TH. Other players like Bitdeer have also entered the ASIC design, recently releasing the SEALMINER A2 Pro, which the company claims delivers 14.9 J/TH.

The AH3880 is the newest addition to Auradine’s Teraflux product line, part of the company’s broader effort to challenge industry giants like Bitmain and MicroBT and reduce the sector’s dependence on Chinese chipmakers. An independent product review earlier this year shows that the air-cooled Teraflux AT2880 delivered 17 J/TH in a test.

Auradine said the new model includes several features designed to enhance operational stability, including EnergyTune, which allows for adjustable power usage. The AH3880 is also promoted as compatible with hybrid facilities supporting both Bitcoin mining and AI workloads.

Auradine reported an annual revenue run rate exceeding $150 million and said it has expanded its manufacturing capacity to meet rising demand. Bitcoin mining giant MARA, which holds one seat on Auradine’s board, made advances of $84.5 million to Auradine in 2024 for future purchases. As of December 31, MARA’s equity investment in Auradine had a carrying value of $50.7 million.

Earlier this year, Auradine appointed semiconductor veteran Lip-Bu Tan as a board director. Tan stepped down from Intel’s board last year but has returned to the chip giant as its new CEO beginning this month.
