CleanSpark has purchased 3,800 units of Canaan’s Avalon A1566I immersion cooling Bitcoin miners, scheduled for delivery in Q4.
In a Friday release, Canaan announced CleanSpark as a new customer for the purchase of its immersion cooling equipment, which offers a total hashrate capacity of 946 PH/s without overclocking.
Canaan did not disclose the transaction’s pricing. In Q2, the Chinese Bitcoin miner manufacturer reported a product revenue of $61.8 million from the sale of 6.2 EH/s of mining equipment, which suggests an approximate selling price of $10/TH/s.
This deal represents CleanSpark’s first purchase of Avalon miners from Canaan, having consistently purchased Antminers from Bitmain over recent years. By September, CleanSpark was the second-largest public Bitcoin mining operator by production, with a realized hashrate of 23.33 EH/s.
“Our commitment to supporting the North American mining community is unwavering, and we are excited about the new opportunities this collaboration opens as we expand our regional presence,” said Nangeng Zhang, Canaan’s chairman and CEO.
