Bitcoin Miner Bit Digital Rebrands HPC Unit as WhiteFiber

Realized hashrate dropped to 1.72 EH/s in December

Bit Digital has rebranded its high-performance computing (HPC) business unit as WhiteFiber, reinforcing its push to diversify revenue beyond Bitcoin mining.

The company announced Thursday that the new subsidiary consolidates its GPU cloud services and data center division, Enovum Data Centers, which it acquired last year.

The rebranding aims to differentiate Bit Digital’s HPC operations from its core cryptocurrency ventures, including Bitcoin mining and Ethereum staking. WhiteFiber will focus on integrating data center colocation with GPU cloud services, which the company claims can support intensive AI workloads.

The move comes as HPC now accounts for half of Bit Digital’s quarterly revenue, while its Bitcoin production market share declines amid growing competition from pure-play mining firms.

“This rebrand establishes a clear identity for a business designed to meet the rising demand for high-performance infrastructure,” said Bit Digital CEO Sam Tabar, noting that WhiteFiber now serves over 20 clients, up from just one at the start of 2024.

Bit Digital confirmed that its cryptocurrency operations will remain under the original brand. The company previously reported $10.1 million in Bitcoin mining revenue and $12.2 million from HPC services in Q3.
